Businesses generally have no statutory consumer cooling-off right; cancellation follows the contract. EU/EEA consumer distance-service contracts generally have a 14-day withdrawal period from conclusion. Missing mandatory information can extend it. Mandatory local protection applies despite a contractual choice of law.
Starting the service
Signing in or opening a project does not automatically remove withdrawal rights. Starting during the cooling-off period requires an express request for proportionate charges to apply. Exceptions for fully performed services and digital content have separate consent and information requirements. Activating a recurring subscription does not fully perform it.
How to withdraw
Send a clear statement to the seller’s contact address before the deadline: “I withdraw from my contract for [service], ordered [date]. Name, address, order reference and today’s date.” No special form is required. Valid withdrawal is refunded without undue delay, normally within 14 days of notification, subject to lawful deductions where applicable.
