Project budgets
The budget is the approved estimate, line by line. The original budget stays fixed, and every change is added on top with an amount, a source, and a reason. That way you always see both what was decided at the start and where the budget stands now.

Original and current budget
The original budget is locked when the estimate is approved. Approved change orders, revisions, and other changes are totaled separately and added to the original to give the current budget.
Changes with a source
A budget change always has an amount and a reference or reason, and whoever makes it needs the budget-change permission. Nothing is overwritten: every change is added and shows up in the history.
The whole portfolio
The Financials page brings together budget, forecast, and variance for your organization’s projects. Totals are shown per currency and never added together across currencies.
Budget changes
The budget changes only when someone approves it
A change order linked to a budget item sits as an expected change until it’s approved under Project finances. Only then is the amount included in the current budget, and a new budget version is saved.
- Expected, submitted, and approved changes kept separate
- Contingency that’s set aside, released, and used
- Saved budget versions to compare
